Race: Las Vegas Half-Marathon (13.1 Miles) 02:29:03
Total Distance
13.10

Ran the Las Vegas half-marathon! The race was exciting at the start because it was dark, there were fireworks, and all the casinos were lit up. There were literally thousands of people running down the strip (while the hard-core gamblers were just getting to bed). The route wasn't as pretty after the sun came up and we left the strip, lots of brown everywhere. Stopping at the water stations slowed me down a bit, but I wasn't too concerned. At mile 11, the #1 and #2 elite marathon runners passed me...and I finished my half-marathon at the same time as the #3 marathoner (oh well!). It took me 2:29:03 according to my garmin, which also showed that we ran 13.4 miles instead of 13.1...

After the race and some rest, NR and I went to see Cirque du Soleil- it was AMAZING and I was so happy to see it. When I got back to SLC however, I got one of the worst colds I've ever had. It has knocked me out since, but I look forward to getting back to running this week.
